What is involved running a website on the education sector?

It is niche specific because you do not go beyond education and you feed the public with news stories that concentrate more on what is going on the education sector. I find running the website very interesting and intellectually tasking.

When did you start and what impact is the website making?

We started September 2017. We are regularly sourcing news stories to promote good educational system.  There is an adage that states that EDUCATION IS THE BEST LEGACY.  Based on the adage we are trying our best to tell students that they have to put more efforts in their studies because it the best legacy. People also benefits from the knowledge being shared.  It calls people i.e stakeholder to action.

How do you source your information?

When running a website on the sector, it requires understanding. Basically the knowledge needed is very necessary. You need to connect with various people in the sector such as teachers, lecturers ,in general people that have wide knowledge on the education  sector and it is reliable and accurate both in the public sector. For instance in the coverage of convocation or matriculation ceremonies,  we find a reliable source or personnel that will give us accurate information on how the events went and the things needed to know concerning the events.

What has been your major challenge?

The major challenge in running an education website is funding. A lot of ideas are coming but it requires funding.  Another challenge is personnel, getting personnel that are competent.  The personnel may not give right or adequate information due to lack of funding.  He/she may not be willing to work because they are after how much they will be paid.  The reason behind our website is to create and add value to the education sector.

How do you assess the Nigeria education system?

It is not as bad as people say it is.  The problem in Nigeria is getting the right people to implement the Nigerian education sector. The Nigeria education needs sufficient funding to fund and provide the basic amenities needed in the education sector .

What is your assessment of the media career center?

The media career center is a place well-equipped with journalism books that will impact people that have vision on anything related. it is an organization where you get educated on journalism and other related media work.
