The Premium Times Centre for Investigative Journalism invites journalists, media professionals, freelancers and researchers, in the media industry to apply to be a part of its #CREATESAFESPACES storytelling project.
The project aims to transform storytelling around Gender-based violence in ways that elicit prompt and positive responses from policymakers, security agencies, the judiciary and the larger society on the issue and commitment to preventing its occurrence.
Nigerian journalists with experience across online, print, broadcast media are eligible to participate in the storytelling project.
Reports from the project are to be centred on the following thematic areas:
*Child marriage in southern Nigeria
*Sexual violence towards street kids (Almajiris) in northern Nigeria
*Sexual violence against persons with disability
*Marital rape in families and communities
* Widowhood in Nigerian Armed Forces
Interested applicants should send a pitch for a story idea they would like to work on as an investigative report, feature story or documentary in the course of the project.
The deadline for application is 9th, July 2021.
Selected journalists will be announced on the 25th of July 2021.
