DUBAWA, independent verification and fact-checking platform, initiated by the Premium Times Centre for Investigative Journalism (PTCIJ) has a vacancy for a motivated and highly experienced full-time editor to oversee its content publishing needs in a fast-paced work environment.
The responsibilities of the editor according to the vacancy announcement by the organization are as follows:
Supervise a team of writers and coordinate with freelance contributions
Proofread and edit spellings, grammar and syntax
Ensure that publications are printed on time, content meets the project’s needs and follows our in-house style guide
Organize, modify and update existing content
Analyze data and analytics, and seek to increase content reader engagement and retention
Write fact-checked pieces and articles
To qualify for employment, the suitable candidate must have the following qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in journalism, English or related field
5 years’ Experience in writing, copy editing, and proofreading
Excellent command of the English language
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Proficient in Desktop publishing software, MS Office and social media platforms.
