Launch of online survey on trauma

Launch of an online survey of journalism educators about their awareness of the impacts of trauma assignments on journalists and their attitudes towards embedding trauma literacy into journalism curriculum. This survey is organized by the Journalism Education and Trauma Research Group (JETREG) at the University of Lincoln, UK with the inclusion of leading journalism scholars and practitioners from universities across the world.

Workshop for lawyers on Saftey of Journalists

Media Rights Agenda (MRA) will host a two-day Litigation Workshop for Lawyers on the Safety of Journalists.

Date:  April 14 and 15, 2021

The workshop, which will take place in Abuja, is supported by the Global Media Defence Fund (GMDF) through the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), and will bring together 30 participants drawn from different states across Nigeria. More details

Deadline for story pitch and mentoring

Deadline for The Thomson Reuters Foundation and the Global Fund training program as part of the ‘Breaking Down Barriers’  initiative.

The program will take place online May 3 to June 7, combining live video sessions and offline work, to strengthen journalistic skills and enhance knowledge of human rights-related barriers to health services. At the end of the course, participants will pitch story ideas for the opportunity to participate in a mentoring program.
